The Imaginarium at Selfridges

Tuesday 28 January 2014

Selfridges aims to encourage customers to explore the power of the mind with its latest initiative, a six-week program of inspiring talks, lectures and discussions at the London, Manchester and Birmingham stores.

Running until March 2, the festival is based primarily in Selfridges' Oxford Street store, in a specially-constructed amphitheatre called the Imaginarium, designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. The space will play host to a range of events, including talks from leading figures in art, architecture, fashion, design, literature, theatre and music, organised by The Lost Lectures.

Architects Magnus Larsson and Alex Kaiser of Ordinary Ltd will host a series of experiments with growing crystal structures, while other events include a Dance Party hosted by The School of Life and psychologist Dr Peter Lovatt, to explore ways in which dance and movement can improve emotion.
