HBL Book of the Week: Parasomnia

Wednesday 25 April 2012

Parasomnia by Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen (Prestel, 2011) is a deeply inspiring photographic journey through African dreamscapes, saturated with colour and viewing the continent from a unique perspective.

Sassen is a visionary photographer whose first monograph Flamboya, published in 2008, is now highly collectible and regarded as a masterpiece.

Having spent three years in Kenya as a young child, she revisited the country in her teens and has been fascinated by West and East Africa as a working focus ever since.
